Established 1985, as NSPE and then trading from 1991 as Atlantic Marine and becoming Atlantic Marine & Aviation LLP in 2010; this is a family owned UK based business primarily manages and operates large offshore specialist (ships) vessels for charter in the offshore renewables and “oil & Gas” sectors. The business also has specialist asset management divisions in both super-yacht charter and private aircraft charter sectors.

The business operates all group assets for charter on a global basis. The business works closely with an international group of asset managers based in Gibraltar, proving technical and commercial management, crewing and commercial services. A lifetime of expertise across air and sea based assets, and with an emphasis on customer service and professional, technical asset management.

Offshore: The business employs a team of over 150 dedicated professionals and crew operating offshore ships in the specialist areas of offshore wind, sub sea operations, offshore construction, survey and platform support. The company managed vessels are all multi role capable, with an emphasis on specialist capabilities such as offshore accommodation, sub sea survey, cable lay and platform supply roles.

The strong management team is led by the Managing Director and Chairman, Paul Crowther and Director, Caroline Crowther. Paul heads up the technical marine, aviation and yacht management teams. Caroline, who has 20 years experience as a Director within the property management business and is also a partner at Atlantic Marine and Aviation Ltd, heads up the property and office management business together with overall administration of accounts, crewing & HR administration.

MD Background: Paul Crowther has taken a highly active role at ‘the helm’ of business enterprise since 1985, As an active member of several prominent company boards in the past 25 years, Paul brings an expertise in company formation, M&A, and business development to the board. Paul also has experience as chairman for a listed public company and has considerable experience in company management for small to midsize companies from $5M to $25M turnover.

The business has its base at Maritime House in Brighton. The freehold site, owned within the group, operates a business center from its office space with 40,000 sqft of land, 70M of quay (inside Shoreham port), 20,000sqft of office space and 7,000sqft of warehouse area.  The operational base at Great Yarmouth also offers 120 meters of quayside, 1.5 acres of land, offices and workshops.

Paul is based on the road 90% of the time, travelling from ship to ship and meeting clients in person. The business ethic is described as a person to person project based chartering business, with an emphasis on personal customer service 24/7.

At home or meeting a client, in uniform on the bridge of a ship or flight deck, or in overalls running the engine room of a 6,000 ton survey ship…. Paul is “hands on” and proactive. – Always open for business…

1988 - 2010

4 Motor/Super yachts directly purchased, owned and operated for charters, from 70 ft to 150 ft and more than 19 yachts purchased, sold and/or operated on behalf of clients.

2006 - 2008

Leasing and operation of 1 x Dornier 328 airliner, 2 x Hawker 800B medium jets, 3 Citation II jets and 2 x Premier 1 Jets

2005 - 2011

3 aircraft purchased, owned and operated including 1 x King Air Turbo Prop, 2 x Citation II 550 series jet aircraft.

2010 to 2015

7 deep sea ships acquired for asset managers, operated in commercial charter and sold including Ships up to 6,700 Tonnes, PSV, subsea cable ship, floatel OSV vessels, Diving Support Ships and a new emphasis on dynamic positioning vessels for specialist offshore tasks.

2013 - 2014

Jet Aircraft Hawker 800B & 35M super yacht acquired and operated for associated asset managers and owners,
